Mainly petroleum coke, needle coke as raw material, coal pitch as binder, calcination, ingredients, kneading, molding, baking and graphitization, machining and made, which is released in electric arc furnace in the form of arc conductor of electricity to heat melting furnace charge, according to its quality indicators, can be divided into ordinary power, high power and high power. Graphite electrodes include:
(1) Ordinary power graphite electrode. Graphite electrode with current density less than 17A/ cm 2 is allowed. It is mainly used in ordinary power electric furnaces for steelmaking, silicon refining and yellow phosphorus refining.
(2) Graphite electrode with antioxidant coating. The surface is coated with a layer of anti-oxidation protective layer of graphite electrode, forming a conductive and high-temperature oxidation resistant protective layer, reducing the consumption of electrode in steelmaking.
(3) High power graphite electrode. Graphite electrodes with current densities of 18 ~ 25A/ cm 2 are allowed, mainly used in high-power arc furnaces for steelmaking.
(4) Ultra-high power graphite electrode. Graphite electrodes with current densities greater than 25A/ cm 2 are allowed. Mainly used for ultra high power steelmaking arc furnace
