Cashmere is a very fine, thick layer of fleece that grows at the root of the goat's hair during the harsh winter months to protect it from the cold. The colder the weather, the richer the fine down becomes. If cotton and down jackets are the clothing we wear to welcome the winter, cashmere is the ritual for the velvet goat to welcome the bitter cold.

The "nearest fibre to the soul" is bred at 38°N, and is selected from the white cashmere of the Alashan pastoral region and Erlang Mountains in Inner Mongolia to produce a standard cashmere yarn with a fibre fineness of 14-16 microns to high quality.
